That is called BUFFERING, which means you computer has not yet downloaded the next frame. you can pause the video for a while then play it again,( 3-4min pause for 10 min video) of you may wanna upgrade your computer connection, you need at least 2mbps download speed to watch movies with no buffering.

There are a ton of things that could be causing that problemIf your computer came stock with Vista than it's probably powerful enough to watch videos - this rules out you having old hardware. Find out what video card you have, find the manufacturers website - either the computer manufacturer or the video card manufacturer - and download the drivers for your video card and install them. They should be self installing once you download, open them, and follow some simple instructions. This could very well fix your problem. Your computer could be overburdened by spam, adware, viruses, and other crap - it depends how well you keep it decluttered. If your computer is rife with stuff like this trendmicro hosts a free virus scanner for your computer. Spybot search and destroy (a free program just google it) can help you clean up your computer and speed it up too.

your problem is not vista, people will blame vista for anything these days. if vista couldn't do something as simple as full screen movies do you think it would have made it to release? How long has this been going on?I'd suggest with what you've givin me that you need to update your video card drivers or perhapse your video card is old/dying. is it puting out a lot of heat? if your video card is overheating that could be a likely cause. does it do it in videogames? perhapse your codec/media player is broken, try installing the cccp: .cccp-project /(this is also assuming your refering to all video media, not just streaming over the internet.)

If it works with a smaller window, just not full screen, assuming nothing is broken there's only one possibility - your graphics card isn't powerful enough to reproduce movies at full screen without hanging. (The larger the picture in percentage of screen size, the harder the graphics card has to work.) Watch in a smaller window or upgrade to a better graphics card. Drivers won't do it, and not all Vista computers come with graphics cards powerful enough to render full-screen movies. (If you have integrated Intel graphics, that's almost always a problem, except for their high-end chip sets - Intel graphics cards are business-class.)

The most common cause of computer freezes is a corrupt registry. Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data. The operating system while running your computer has to pick its way through all this excess material. There will be bits of programs which were not completely uninstalled, parts of programs which were never completely installed, fragments of miscellaneous data, useless drivers, and a multitude of other bits and pieces. The answer is to clean your registry and remove all the material which is not needed. fix-pc-freezing /Clean_Up_Cent…Get the best one, and completely clean your windows registry with a few clicks of the mouse.Often there is also spyware which is using your computer for nefarious purposes and slowing its operation. The answer is to scan your pc with a best anti-spyware to clean spyware/trojan/virus. fix-pc-freezing /comparison.ht…
